There is only one answer that can encompass all these questions is that my heart hurts. You might be thinking, "What does he mean by this?" My heart hurts for those students that do not have a positive role model in their life, a father figure at home, those students who believe that they do not hold value to this world, etc. My heart yearns to be that teacher who educates as well as changes students lives. I believe this is the path that God has intended me to travel down. Each day that I get closer to entering a classroom I become more passionate toward being that person, teacher, mentor, coach, and advisor I need to be for my students. For some of my students, I will be the last chance of influence before they leave high school. I believe it is my job to give them the knowledge and skills to become the best version of themselves before they leave high school.
I want to be that positive agent of change for my students. Each of them deserve to have a chance to impact this world through the agricultural industry or any other industry that they have a passion toward. It is my duty to give them the knowledge, skills, and advice needed to prepare them for life after high school.
The Bible verse, "The student is not above the teacher but everyone who is fully trained will be like their teacher." Luke 6:40, has been my fuel to be the best teacher I can be for my students. They need the best so they can be their best.
